Our specialists

We work with an ethical insurance broker with a focus on customer satisfaction whilst helping our friends in the natural world. When you buy an insurance product through Evergreen, they are paid a commission for arranging the insurance. Instead of taking all that commission for themselves, they give a percentage of it to one of their charity partners.

Education hub in Lusaka National Park

Education has always been, and will continue to be, a guiding principle in @dswfwildlife’s environmental work and they recently shared an exciting update on the development of a new education hub in Lusaka National Park.

Game Rangers International’s Wildlife Discovery Centre aims to open its doors in early 2022. Located in the heart of Zambia, it will be within easy reach to many who otherwise would not have access to the country’s natural wilderness areas.

William Mgomo – Otter work in Tanzania.

William recently visited five schools across the region. He visited Mtama and Lipumba Primary Schools in the Mbinga Region reaching out to 555 children and then went on to Lituhi, Litimba and Lihuhu schools near Lake Nyasa delivering his message to a further 944 children!

During his visits, William emphasised the importance of otter conservation, their habitats, ecology, challenges they face and the importance of how living organisms are all dependant on each other.

NEW SCHOOL

Screenshot 2022-01-07 at 11.56.32.png

Emagnevy School

Emagnevy school is isolated and desperately overcrowded, with only 5 classrooms and a storeroom to serve 350 students and 10 teachers.

This means more than half of children attend half-school days, with cramped and broken benches. The school also lacks WASH facilities, with no access to handwashing and on-site water wells, only 2 latrines, and limited menstrual hygiene management facilities for girls.

Seed Madagascar - Food distribution anosy

Southern Madagascar is currently experiencing extreme food shortages and rising prices caused by the economic impact of COVID-19 and seasonal drought. At present, 1.5 million people in the region, approximately half the population, are unable to find enough food to eat.

Exacerbated by high poverty levels in the region, women and children face heightened vulnerability to hunger, contributing to life-threatening surges in the incidence of malnutrition.
